new question

new question about counting db+dbi+db+db so you need to know that. Also had one ” What are two characteristics about mobilty anchor?”

One question on 2.4GHz, how many channels and so on. (14 channel 2.412 to 2.484 Ghz range)
FCC (US): 11 channel, non-overlapping 1, 6, 11
ESTI (Europe): 13 channels, non-overlalpping 1, 5, 9, 13
Japan: 14 channels, non-overlapping 1, 6, 11, 14

Which tool would you use for x survery (I think it was passive survery, can’t remember)
A couple of command questions
One I’m pretty sure I got wrong was
Which tab on the WLC would you use to view AP connectivity
A) Management
B) WLAN
C) Wireless
D) AP Manager

Wireless > ALL APs General Tab to check the APs CAPWAP setting. Refer to the IP Config section to view if the AP's CAPWAP Preferred Mode is applied globally or for an AP-Group.
How much cell overlap for 2.4GHz?
A 5%
B 10%
C 15%
D 20%
How much should cells overlap each other to promote good roaming? Cisco recommends 10–15 percent overlap for most data applications and 15–20 percent overlap for voice. The idea is to give a client device some continued coverage even after the RSSI of its associated AP falls below a threshold and a roam might be triggered. The client can probe and reas- sociate with the next AP before it completely loses contact with the previous AP. Seamless roaming is especially important for time-critical applications like voice traffic.

I’m going to try and find the answers to the questions I got and hope I get the same questions again in a weeks time. Failing by 1% is painful…..

ESTI

ESTI 2.4GHz max Transmit output power for point-to-point installation
17 dbm

i guys. I passed today. 9xx/1000. IMM doc every new question added there were in my exam. Other part was from 410 dumps. No wcs no drag and drop. Just an advice, you cant pass only with this. You should read cerfully the question because is from 410 dumps but is changed the meaning or the alternatives. Added were: upgrating IOS-XE. or how do we use spectrum analyser, or three points for wlc roaming workd (i have read that the third condition is software version, but in exam the meaning alternative was different LWAPP, and i dont know if is the correct one. Good luck to everyone. 🙂

Max EIRP regulated from FCC (US) and ESTI (Europe)

FCC (US)

Transmitters in the 2.4-GHz band can be used indoors or outdoors.
  • The power emitted at the transmitter must be limited to 30 dBm
  • the EIRP limited to 36 dBm.
An antenna gain of +6 dBi is assumed. However, there is some flexibility according  to the following two rules, based on the intended spread of the signal:

■ Point-to-multipoint links
—Where the  transmitted signal propagates in all directions, you can make adjustments according to a 1:1  rule. For each dBm you remove from the trans-mitter, one dBi can be added to the antenna gain, as long as the EIRP is no greater than 36 dBm.

■ Point-to-point links
—Where the transmitted  signal propagates in one general direc-tion, you can make adjustments according to a 3:1 rule. For each dBm you remove from the transmitter, 3 dBi can be added to the antenna gain. The resulting EIRP canexceed 36 dBm but cannot be greater than 56 dBm.

Regualatory domain Frequency Channel

2.4 ghz features (11 channel, 14 channel, FCC decide 14 channel, max 100mW power allowded or max 100W allowded from FCC.

The 2.4 GHz band regulations have been relatively constant, given the length of time they have been operating.
  • FCC allows for 11 channels,
  • ETSI allows for up to 13channels
  • Japan allows up to14 channels, but requires a special license to operate in channel 14.
For 5 GHz, countries are moving to open the frequency range 5.250-5.350 GHz (UNII-2) and the
frequency range 5.470 to 5.780 GHz for additional 802.11a channels.

5 GHz - 802.11a/n/ac
  • 5.150 to 5.250 GHz (UNII-1 - 4 Channels 36-48)
  • 5.250 to 5.350 GHz (UNII-2 - 4 Channels 52-64)
  • 5.450 to 5.710 GHz (UNII-2e - 12 Channels 100-144)
  • 5.725 to 5.875 GHz (UNII-3 - 5 Channels 140-165)

IOS-XE commands

Q: upgrading code image by installing an IOS-XE image bundle with command:
  • switch# software install filesource:filename.bin new
Q: Remove redundant or extraneous packages with the following command:
  • Switch# software clean file flash: switch

Q: Which type of file is included within the IOS-XE software bundle?
  • C. .bin files

Q: You have been tasked with backing up the configuration for your WLCs. The WLCs are running IOS-XE and you want to save the backups to an FTP server. Which two backup options can be used to complete the task? ( (Choose two)
  • A. Use the copy running-config tftp all command. Input the IP Address of the remote server. Input the destination filename.
  • C. Use the Upload File Menu from the Wireless GUI. Specify the File type as Configuration. Select the Transfer Mode.

Q: Which AireOS WLC CLI show commands details both an access point's name and serial number?
  • C. show inventory

new questions

No labs/drag and drop; just single choice and multiple choice. I can’t remember the questions from the exam because I was really nervous LOL–sorry!
However, I do recall questions about mobility anchor, IOS XE upgrade, and max EIRP for some regions (FCC, ETSI).

@JD upgrading IOS-XE (software install…. code.bin) theres no question about n LAP needs to support Wlans Different DHCP and SSIDs. Some answers were two instead of three or 1 instead of two, or put aswers with same meaning like 2.4 ghz features (11 channel, 14 channel, FCC decide 14 channel, max 100mW power allowded or max 100W allowded from FCC. As a told you should understand the meaning of the dumbps not just learning them because can easy choose the wrong alternative. I will check maybe later with some dumps and maybe i will remember some of them.

Learn IOS XE software install commands, EIRP, watts to dbm calculations…etc. carefully!

Assuming 69dB free space loss (Hmm...)

Q70: Assuming 69dB free space loss.
Tx – cable loss + antenna gain – FSL + antenna gain – cable loss = Rx
TX = Rx + cable loss – antenna gain + FSL – antenna gain + cable loss
Tx = -45 + 4 -2 +69 – 2 + 4 = +28dBm
